Roberta K. Poynter, Age 88 of Somerset, departed this life on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on June 5, 1925 in Bandy, Ky to the late Elmer A. and Lyda Marcum Stevens. Kathleen was a homemaker and member of the Lake Cumberland Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carter Poynter, whom she married on November 1, 1946 in Somerset, KY; a daughter, Mary Jo Poynter; two brothers, Carl (and Mable)Stevens and Russell (and Artie) Stevens; a sister, Joyce (and Lee) Broyles; and a Sister in law, Vivian Stevens.
She is survived by brothers, Charles “Bob” (and Hazel) Stevens of Somerset, KY and Ray (and Linda) Stevens of Dayton, Ohio.
Visitation for Kathleen Poynter will be Tuesday, May 27th from 11:30am to 1:00pm in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 27th at 1:00pm with Bro. Seth G. Tidball officiating.
Pallbearers will be Sam Price, Gary Eaton, Tommy Jones, Mike Broyles, Sherman Parkey, and Dr. Roger Lane.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
