Larry Wayne McPheron, age 58, of Monticello, Ky. and formerly of the Bandy Community passed away on Tuesday April 22, 2014 in Wayne Co. Ky.

He was born on March 20, 1956 in Somerset, Ky. to Herbert McPheron and the late Viola Reynolds McPheron.

Larry recently accepted Jesus as as his Savior and was baptized. He was a former chef and carpet layer and enjoyed bowling, poker, flea markets, fishing and making wishing wells.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Viola McPheron. His grandparents, John and Laverne Lovins McPheron and Henry and Josie Logsdon Reynolds.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Oldham McPheron. His father and step-mother, Herbert and Ruth McPheron of Eubank, Ky. Three sons, Scott (Lavender) Canada of Science Hill, Ky., Larry Jr. (Trista) McPheron of Monticello, Ky. and William (Tammy) McPheron of Monticello, Ky. Five daughters, Lori (Alvin) Locker of Burkesville, Ky., Tonya (Justin) Cantrell of Smithville, Tn., Jody (Jonathan) Bell of Monticello, Ky., Rosie (Michael Lawson) McPheron of Monticello, Ky. and Amanda (Christopher) Bentley of Jacksonville, Illinois. Three brothers, Dr. John (Teresa) McPheron of Rogersville, Tn., Bro. Randy (Lisa) McPheron of Mt. Vernon, Ky. and Jimmy (Kim) McPheron of Brodhead, KY. Two sisters, Linda (Ronnie) Adams of Brodhead, Ky. and Betsy (Bruce) Hopkis of Eubank, Ky. Twenty Eight grandchildren and Ten great-grandchildren. Two aunts, Sylvia Brown of Eubank, Ky. and Bessie Brock of Covington, Ky. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends and neighbors and special friends, Randy and Tina Hall of Monticello, Ky.

Visitation will be Friday April 25, 2014 after 11am in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Friday April 25, 2014 at 2pm in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Randy McPheron and Bro. John McPheron officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Church of Christ Cemetery in Rockcastle, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Scott Canada, Larry McPheron, Jr., William McPheron, Mikey Lawson, Jonathan Bell, Jason Fulton, Jason Piercy and Kevin Glass. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Hall and Jimmy McPheron.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Larry McPheron Memorial Fund C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
