Esther Weaver, age 94 of Monticello, KY passed away on Sunday March 23, 2014 at Wayne Co. Hospital.
She was born on December 30, 1919 in Eastview, KY to Young and Cynthia Hay Hicks.
Esther was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda Methodist Church in Monticello, KY. She enjoyed listening to gospel music on WLJC, loved her family and liked to farm.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luid Weaver and a son Bobby Joe Weaver.
She is survived by two nieces who were like daughters, Kathy (Roger) McClendon of Nancy, Ky and Kim Calhoun of Somerset, KY. Nieces, Anne Rivera, Nancy Kyle, Janne Hargis and Glenna Watters. Great nieces and nephews, Traci Jackson, Lisa Harris, Jeffery Hargis, Theresa Jones, Kelly Milby, Ange Hernandez and Brian Kyle. Also survived by a special friend, Nancy Garner and her family.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Earnest Mann officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to WLJC TV and Radio, 219 Radio Station Loop, Beattyville, KY 41311.
