Daisy Willena Whitaker Beal, age 84, of Ferguson, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born on April 13, 1929 in the Squib Community of Pulaski County to the late Thelopis “Oppie” and Maggie Whitaker Whitaker.
She was the former owner and operator of “Daisy Restaurant” and was a member of Love Divine Baptist Church. She loved her garden, flower gardening and loved and enjoyed her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husbands, Lawrence Whitaker and John Beal; son, Mark Anthony Whitaker; brothers, Lester Finley, Edwin Whitaker, Thedford Whitaker, Rex Whitaker and Themar Whitaker; sisters, Versia Price, Eva Dixon, Elva Norton and Ruby Norton and grandson, Dennis Whitaker.
She is survived by a son, William Lawrence “Larry” Whitaker of Redding, OH; daughters, Linda Willena Sies of Whitley City, KY and Joetta (Darrell) Whitaker Kennedy of Ferguson, KY; daughter in law, Brenda Whitaker of Lockland, Ohio; sister in laws, Janel Whitaker of Somerset, KY, Bernice Whitaker Weber and Mildred Whitaker both of Cincinnati, OH; brother in law, Wayne (Sue) Whitaker of Loveland, OH; grandchildren, Jason Whitaker, Jaime Whitaker, Johnathan Whitaker, Robert Linville, Jr., William Mark Linville, Amy Kennedy Wesley, Larry Whitaker, Jr., and Chad Whitaker; 14 Great grandchildren; 3 Great great grandchildren;several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver, Katherine Wallace of Somerset, KY.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, after 6:00pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Elmo Mounce officiating. F
uneral services will be Wednesday, January 26 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Pine Thickett Cemetery.
