Vincent Rainwater, Age 60, of the Slate Branch Community, passed away Saturday February 8, 2014 at his home.
He was born on July 5, 1953 in the Slate Branch Community to the late Edd and Beatrice Burton Rainwater.
Vincent was a self-employed brick layer and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed watching TV and spending time with his family. Vincent was known as the “Mayor of Slate Branch”.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Faye Colyer Rainwater, whom he married on July 13, 1973 at Rev. Silas New’s home. One son, Vincent Douglas (Chawna) Rainwater of Bowling Green, KY. Three daughters, Susan (David McKinney) Rainwater of Somerset, KY, Amy Rainwater of Somerset, KY and Lyda Nicole Rainwater of Slate Branch Community. One brother, Lewis (Ruth) Rainwater of West Lebanon, IN. Four grandchildren, Michael Chase Rainwater, Maria Rainwater, Morgan Rainwater and Devon McKinney. He is also survived by special friends, Ernie Troxtle of Slate Branch, Ronnie and Jane Loveless of Slate Branch and many many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2014 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 12, 2014 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. John Zupancic officiating.
Burial will follow in the Slate Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, David Sellers, David McKinney, Jason Rainwater, Chase Rainwater, Dusty Owens, James Owens, Hobbie Hall and Leroy Owens.
Honorary Pallbearers, Ernie Troxtle and Lee Rainwater.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Vincent Rainwater Monument Fund.
