Diane Bray Rice, age 56 of the Cedar Grove Community passed away Tuesday December 24, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on March 11, 1957 in Somerset, KY to the late Forrest Abbott and Jessie Sears Oder.
Judy was a retired Teachers Aide for Southern Middle School and enjoyed her grandchildren, her dogs Grizzelda and Zoey and loved her job.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one great grandchild, Vincent Hughes. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Rice of Jackson Co. KY. One son, Jimmy (Donna) Abbott of Somerset, KY. Two daughters, Jessica (James Bolin) Bray of Somerset, KY and Diane “Baby” (Jeff) Davis of Somerset, KY. One brother, Hank Abbott of London, KY. Five sisters, Irene (Bill) Lee of Somerset, KY, Susie (Eddie) Cook of Richmond, KY, Doris (Anthony) Nevels of Somerset, KY, Judy (Jackie) Phelps of Somerset, Ky and Dora (Doug) Worley of Somerset, KY. Six grandchildren, Harley Hughes, Andrew Hughes, Jordan Abbott, Kody Abbott, Summer Abbott and Tiana Perry.
Visitation will be held on Friday December 27, 2013 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 28, 2013 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Sears and Bro. Earl Owens officiating.
Burial will follow in the White Lily Cemetery.
