William Harrison Maynard, age 91 of Somerset, KY passed away Saturday December 7, 2013 at VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

He was born on August 21, 1922 in Wapella, Illinois to the late John Morgan and Oma Dean Cox Maynard.

He was of the Baptist faith, retired as a machinist for Hughes Air Craft, a WW II Army Veteran and former owner operator of Gulf gas station in Old Burnside City.

He is preceded in death by his parents. His wife, L.C. Daniel Maynard. One daughter, Pauline Maynard. Five brothers, Frank Maynard, Samuel E. Maynard, Harry Maynard, Henry Maynard and Walter Maynard. Three sisters, Evelynn Maynard Flynn, Alice Maynard and Bessie Maynard.

He is survived by one son, William (Deo) Maynard. One daughter, Fay Maynard of Somerset, KY. A special granddaughter, , Heather “Molly” Carrender of Somerset, KY and numerous adopted grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 2pm at the New Beginnings Worship Center.

Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
