Geraldine Cox Wooten, age 83 of Bronston, KY passed away Saturday November 16, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on March 30, 1930 in London, KY to the late Owsley “Doc”and Mary McDaniel Cox.
Geraldine was former Owner Operator of Jerry’s Beauty Shop and a retired Beautician. She attended Lakeside Baptist Church, was a loving mother and grandmother and loved antiques, traveling and stained glass art.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Her husband, Eugene Wooten, whom she married on September 18, 1950 in Belton, Texas. A daughter, Sharon Wooten Stevenson and a grandson, Scott Stevenson. A son, Terry Ray Grimes and a brother, Bill Cox.
She is survived by three sons, Barry (Brenda) Wooten of Houstonville, KY, Byron (Jenny) Wooten of Bronston, KY and Derrick (Cindy) Wooten of Somerset, Ky. and Jerry Eldridge of Danville, KY who was like a son. One son in law, Leland Stevenson on Nancy, KY. Grandchildren, Jared (Kristee) Wooten, Jeff (Kathy) Wooten, Angie (Greg) Broyles, Amy (Shawn) Hail, Erica Wooten, Wyatt Wooten and Luke (Jessica) Stevenson. Stepgrandchildren, Kristi (Shannon) Fraley and Ashley Bussell. Great-Grandchildren, Levi, Lacie, Journey and Jenasis Wooten, Gracen and Aden Broyles, Taylor and Brittney Hail, Allison, Olivia and Tye Stevenson. Step great-grandchildren, Colton, Carson and Camden Fraley, Riley Bradley and Jordyn McGuire.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 19, 2013 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 20, 2013 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Fisher officiating.
Burial will be in the Mill Sprimgs National Cemetery.
