Freddie Ray Burton, age 64 of Somerset, KY passed away Thursday November 14, 2013 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born on May 26, 1949 in Somerset, KY to the late Claude and Virginia Brasfield Burton. Freddie had worked as an EMT and for the Pulaski Co. Sherrif’s office as a deputy. He was of the Pentacostal faith and enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, watching UK and spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Barbara Burton and Shirley Yanders.
He is survived by two sons, Cody Burton of Somerset, KY and Steve (Nicole) Burton of Science Hill, KY. Three sisters, Georgia Phillippi, Brenda Mounce and Cathy (Jerry) Colyer all of Somerset, KY. Also survived by Debbie Brasfield who was like a sister, four grandchildren, Riley Burton, Taylee Burton, Coy Burton and Rayen Burton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 15, 2013 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 16, 2013 at 11AM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Burnett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Freddie Burton Memorial Fund C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
