Mildred Whitaker Foote (Millie) was born July 7, 1930, in Arlington Heights, OH., to Roosevelt and Estella (n. Sears) Whitaker. She married the love of her life, Thomas Edward Foote on Nov. 27th, 1948.
Tom & Millie raised 4 sons & were active in the Forest Park Volunteer Fire Dept before retiring to their cabin in the woods on Lake Cumberland in 1977. Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She was a friend to all & enjoyed her Wednesday card days. She also spent time traveling with her sons to Hawaii, Cancun, Xcaret, and numerous trips to Custer, SD.
Millie died peacefully on Nov 1st, 2013, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital following a brief illness. She was 83. In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her grandson, Jeffrey Marshall Foote; and her brothers, Kenneth & Richard Whitaker.
Millie is survived by her sons: Michael E. (Carolyn) Foote of Custer, SD; Thomas T. Foote of Cincinnati, OH; Mark J. (Heather) Foote of Burnside, KY; & Robert J. (Shelly) Foote of Indianapolis, IN; 9 grandchildren: Jason Foote, Adam Foote, Michael K. Foote, Jared Foote, Alicia (Foote) Duebel, Jamie (Foote) Griffith, Cara (Foote) Kempf, Trevor Foote, & Missy (Foote) Mackey; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Franks of Fairfield, OH.; a brother, Edwin (Ida) Whitaker of Ft. Meyer, FL; brothers-in-law Robert Foote, Bill Foote, Ned Foote and many nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Tom & Millie’s life will be held in the spring in Burnside, KY.
