Howard R. Johnson, age 71 of Somerset, KY passed away Tuesday October 15, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 17, 1942 in Whitesburg, KY to the late Ed and Vergie Hall Johnson.
He was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church, Mason and D.A.V.
He is preceded in death by his parents. His wife, Phyllis Johnson. One brother, Edgar Johnson. Three sisters, Nellie, Anola and Iona.
Survived by three son, Howard Johnson Jr., Michael Johnson and Tim Johnson. One sister, Nellie. Four grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Lynzie Johnson, Mariah Hope and Dalton Johnson. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and a daughter in law, Marci.
Visitation will be held Sunday October 20, 2013 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Monday October 21, 2013 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #38
Honor Guard.
