Gene Turner Age 74 of Somerset, Ky. passed away Wednesday Sept. 11, 2013 at his home.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and retired from the City of Somerset. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was born on January 23, 1939 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Luther Marion and Ollie May Burton Turner.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Four sisters, Christine Phelps, Minnie Turner, Edith Turner and Edna Turner. One brother, Luther Marion Turner and two sons, Terry Turner and Jody Turner.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Bradley of Cave City, Ga. and Sheila Turner of Indianapolis, In. Two sons, Rodney Turner of Somerset, Ky. and Jerry Turner of Somerset, Ky. Three brothers, Frank Turner of Monticello, Ky., Jessie Turner of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Walter Turner of Elizabethtown, Ky. Three sisters, Helen Brown of Elizabethtown, Ky., Linda Decker of Somerset, Ky. and Betty Dugger of Somerset, Ky. Also survived by several grandkids, step-grandkids and great-grandkids.
Visitation will be held Saturday September 14, 2013 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday September 15, 2013 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks
Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Harris officiating.
Burial will be in the Ringgold Cemetery.
