William Harmon Thompson Age 76 of Jones Knob of Somerset, Ky. passed away Thursday June 20, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born April 13, 1937 in the Omega Park Community of Pulaski Co. Ky.Son of the late William Steve and Desdie Hair Thompson.
He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed taking care of his cattle, playing basketball, hunting, collecting guns and knives. He was a retired crane operator for Somerset Scrap Metal.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rosie Hollars Thompson whom he married March 2, 1957 in Somerset, Ky. From this union they were blessed with one son, William Steve (Diane) Thompson of Rush Branch Community of Somerset, Ky. Daughters, Cathy (Bobby) Engle of Nancy, Ky. and Goldie Thompson of Somerset, Ky. Also survived by three brothers, Wayne (Myrtle) Thompson of Clarksville, Tn., Roy (June) Thompson of Ferguson, Ky. and Orville (Bonnie) Thompson of Blue John Community. Four sisters, Violet Haynes of Somerset, Ky., Shirley Bray of Omega Community Somerset, Ky., JoAnne Thompson of Cave City, Ky. and Beulah Cassada of Hopskinsville, Ky. 7 grandchildren, Jeremy and (Lisa), Brandie and (Steven), Lindsey and (Adam), Steven, Ashley, Britney, Hillary and (GJ). 6 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kelly, Breanna, Lucas, Zachary and Jack.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Brothers, Steve Jr., Noel, Estes and Charlie. Sisters, Betty Buff, Bonnie Reed, Letha Lowery, Zula Thompson, Madaline Thompson and Verlie Thompson.
Visitation will be held Sunday June 23, 2013 after 11am in Chapel A of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday June 23, 2013 at 2pm in Chapel A of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Don Kennedy and Bro. Anthony Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery.
