Heaven gained another soul when Andy Jack Tackett, Age 65 of Somerset, Ky. passed away at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, June 6, 2013 at approximately 6:22pm due to natural causes.

He served the country and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. When Andy left the service he took a job in Michigan as a car maker for the Ford Motor Company. He then continued his life in the mountains of Eastern Ky. where he made his living as a coal miner. Out of all accomplishments, two made his heart smile, he spent 23 years married to his late wife and the love of his life, Mary Etta. And in his easy years of his retirement he played with his grandchildren, the second love his life had found.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Etta Tackett, father Willie Tackett, brother Jerry Tackett and sister Linda Gaye Tackett.

He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Ruth Tackett. Brothers, Doug , Larry and Arthur Tackett all from Beaver, Ky. Sisters, Louetta Miller of Tip City, OH., Judy Gail Vance and Deborah Tackett both of Beaver, Ky. Daughters, Kimberly Lee Roberts and Jackie Lynn Mosley both of Somerset, Ky. Denna Denise Tackett Rose and Ruthetta Tackett Ashley all of Evansville, IN.

Grandchildren, Kayla Roberts, Andrew Mosley, Cody Wood, Joey Mosley, Chassidy Epperson, Dylan Price, Ben Masengil and Luke Ashley. Great Grandchildren, Dane Smith and Adelynn Epperson. And also a host of family and friends.

In leiu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the local DAV Chapter within Somerset, Ky.

Visitation will be held Saturday June 15, 2013 after 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Saturday June 15, 2013 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Mosley and Bro. Doug Tackett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hardwick Cemetery in Wayne Co. Ky.
