Dewey Hager, Jr. age 72 of the Clearwater Community west of Nancy, Ky. (formerly of West Milton, OH.) passed away peacefully at home on May 31st, 2013. Dewey was born in Ransom in Pike County, Ky. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was retired from the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors in Dayton, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Martha Dotson Hager and his siblings Albert Vipperman, Alfred Vipperman and Edith Hager Hatfield, and his great grandson Seth Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda VanKirk Hager, and children Penny (Dave) Seitz of Decatur, IN., Stephanie (John) Horton of Nancy, Ky., and Michael Ryan (Jessica) Hager of Pickerington, OH., grandchildren Michael Todd Hager, Matthew Jones, Christina Allred, Kristen Poppe, Emma Hager, Abby Hager, and Maddie Hager.

Dewey loved the lake, working with his computers, and was an avid UK basketball fan. He enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors while watching the sunset at Clearwater Boat Ramp. He loved his children, grandchildren, extended family and friends dearly.

As he requested, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s favorite charity or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland at 100 Parkway Dr., Somerset, Ky. 42503, in Dewey’s memory.
