Alene A. Barnes Age 83, of Somerset, Ky. passed away Sunday May 19, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky.
She was born August 30, 1929 in Heavener, Oklahoma, daughter of Leonard Cast and Irene Wymire Cast.
She taught Sunday School Class at her Church at Bible Baptist Church in Victorville, Ca. Went to Victor Valley College and became certified in Restaurant Management. She moved to California in the late 1930’s from Oklahoma where she lived for 58 years and then returned to Somerset.
She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Roy and (wife Virgie) Barnes of Somerset, Ky. and Gary and (wife Sophia) Barnes of Apple Valley, Ca. Sisters, Wanda and (husband Jack) Finch of Hesperia, Ca. Grandchildren Leah and (husband Benjamin) Ferro, Royce Barnes Gary E. Barnes Jr., Nicholas Barnes, Christopher Barnes and Richard and (wife Dr. Christina) Barnes, great-grandchildren, Trystan, Deighan and Peyton Barnes, Benjamin Roy and Gideon David Ferro and a step grandchild, Sarah Barnes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack Cast, James Cast, Leonard Cast Jr., and Donald Cast, and daughter, Barbara Barnes Martin.
Visitation will be held Wednesday May 22, 2013 from 1pm until 4pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
