Delbert “Tupie” Lewis, age 76, of Burnside, Ky., passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at his residence. He was born on March 27, 1936, to the Late Leslie Lewis Sr. and Elizabeth Sellers Lewis. Delbert was a retired school bus driver and custodian. Delbert enjoyed quilting, watching TV; The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Westerns, Fox News.

Delbert leaves behind to mourn his passing four sons, Billy Ray Lewis, (fiancée Nancy Kindrick), of Tateville, Danny (Kimberly) Lewis, of Somerset, David (Marlena) Lewis, Michael Lewis of Tateville; three daughters, Mary Ann (James) Wesley of Bethelridge, Ky., Debbie (David) Linville, of Somerset, Kathy (Charlie) Johns, of Lexington, Ky.; brother, Leslie Lewis Jr. of Florida; Nineteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Morrow Lewis, one daughter, Vickie Lewis; brothers, Donald, Darrell and Doran Lewis, two sisters, Christine Hammond and Anna Warman, two grandsons, Nathan Brake and Ryan Lewis.

Visitation services for Mr. Lewis will be Thursday, December 13, 2012, at 5:00 P.M., in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 14, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. James “Buddy” Lockard and Bro. Mike Hammond.

Kenny Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Timothy Lewis, Michael Merrick, Kyle Lewis and Justin Lewis will be serving as active pallbearers.

Interment will follow in the Burnside Cemetery.
