John Hardin Alton, Age 91, of Tateville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence.
Born November 22, 2012 in the Turkey Creek Community of Wayne County, Kentucky to the late J.C. and Keddy Hester Denney Alton, he was a retired produce vendor who enjoyed selling fruit and most importantly loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his sons, Harold (and Linda) Alton, of Tateville, KY, Herb (and Donna Sue) Alton, of New Castle, IN; daughter, Doris Lewis, of Burnside, KY and like a daughter, Donna Alton Whitis “and that boy” of Burnside, KY; brothers, Austin (and Diane) Alton, of Tateville, KY, Koolidge Alton, of Cincinnati, OH; 15 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death was his wife, Helen May West Alton, whom he married May 15, 1945; Parents, J.C. and Keddy Hester Denney Alton; sons, John Henry Rigney and Gene Bottoms; brothers, Jessie Alton, Kenton Alton, Tommy Alton, Jerry Alton, and Lewis Alton; sisters, Ora Morrow, Zina Rose, Stella Branscum and Dora Alton; grandchild, Cheryl Lynn Bottoms and great grandchild, Anthony Lewis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 13, 2012 after 5:00pm at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
