Homer R. Simpson, 89, of the Parkers Mill Road Community passed away on Tuesday October 16, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Mr. Simpson was born in the Cedar Hill Community of Wayne County to the late Crawford and Maye Denney Simpson on December 2, 1922. He was a farmer, retired Pulaski County School Bus Driver of 38 years, former Ford and Chevrolet garage mechanic and is of the Baptist faith.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, Michael Wayne Simpson, Homer Ray Simpson Jr., Roger Lee Simpson, and James Barton (Janice) Simpson all of Somerset; sister, Helen McClendon of Somerset; grandchildren, Jonathon Michael Crawford (Rhonda) Simpson, Joy Vanessa Simpson, Kimberly Lynn (Travis) Jenkins and Brian Simpson; great grandchildren, Kayla Goldsmith, Ryan Simpson, Jarrett Simpson, Bryston Lane Searls, Noah R. Simpson, Ethan Lee Searls, and Shannon Oakley; nieces, Carolyn (James) Simpson, Jacinda (Kendall) Kissee; nephew, Gary (Linda) McClendon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Crawford and Maye Simpson; wife, Lona Katherine Rogers Simpson; brother, James Howard Simpson; grandson, James Barton JR,; daughter in law, Saundra Louise Simpson.

Visitation for Mr. Simpson will be Thursday October 18, 2012 from noon to 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2 P.M. with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating. Interment will follow in the New Bronston Cemetery.
