Robert “Doug” Douglas Troxtle, 68, of Lancaster, Kentucky passed away Saturday July 28, 2012. Mr. Troxtle was born in Pulaski County on April 4, 1944 to Robert Troxtle and the late Edith Phelps Whitaker.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his father, Robert Troxtle; Son, Clyde Edward (Tina) Troxtle of Somerset; daughter, Kimberly Troxtle of Science Hill; former wife, Madonna Sue Troxtle; brothers, Bill Whitaker of Somerset, Dennis Whitaker of Versailles, Boyd Lay of Philadelphia; sisters, Diane Bray of Bronston, Sandy Howard of Lexington, Norene Shields of Loveland, Ohio; Grandchildren, Robert Troxtle, Jacob Troxtle, Haylee Flynn, Emily Flynn.

Mr. Troxtle is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Phelps Whitaker; son, Robbie Troxtle; special friend, Carol Feck.

Mr. Troxtle was also known as “Mr. Program” he enjoyed his work with the Lexington Legends and Keenland after his retirement from being a tool and dye maker. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and fishing. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War era and of the Baptist Faith.

Visitation will be held Wednesday August 1st at 6 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday July 2nd at 1 P.M. At Southern Oaks with Bro. David Bullock and Bro. Bradley Goforth officiating. Interment at Mill Springs National Cemetery will follow. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 38 Honor Guard.
