Clarence Doyle Dodson, 75, Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital following a long battle with cancer. He was born May 8, 1937, in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Lewis and Lillian Ferguson Dodson. He was retired farmer and a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Bro. Noel (Della) Dodson, Somerset, and Eldon Dodson, Shopville; four sisters, Ruth Stogsdill, Bolivar, MO; Kathern Dodson, Somerset; Jeanie Dodson, Apple Valley, CA; and Velma (Donnie) Mincey, Somerset; ten nieces, Cloise Tacheco, Donna McDonald, Patricia Johnson, Sandy Velasco, Jackie Barrett, Renee Buell, Lillian Norris, Tamra Wilson, Emily Elza, and Angela Epperson; seven nephews, Richard Stogsdill, Richie Brown, Dale Dodson, Alan Dodson, Donnie Dodson, Michael Dodson, and Bryce Mincey; three sisters-in-law, Janice Dodson, Sandy Dodson, and Sharon Dodson; and several nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Clarence loved vintage cars, dogs and especially people. He leaves a host of wonderful friends and his buddies at Tenco.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Beatrice Dodson; three brothers, Albert, Paul and Phillip Dodson; and two nephews, Darrell Stogsdill and Phillip Henderson.
The family will receive friends at Southern Oaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bros. Will Brown and Alan Dodson officiating. Burial will be follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Shopville, KY.
