Darlean Norfleet, age 84, of Science Hill, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 07, 2016, at Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

Darlean was born on December 9, 1931, in Nancy, daughter of the late Arwin Buck and Goldie Mae Collins Buchanan.  She was a homemaker who always enjoyed good conversation.  Darlean loved music and dancing.  She enjoyed her family and grandchildren.  Darlean was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son, Lewis Gordon (and Susanne) Norfleet, of Stanford; her daughter, Debra (and Herb) Cross, of Science Hill; her brother, Beecher Roy Buchanan, of Attica, Indiana; her sister, Helen Verdean Moore, of Lafayette, Indiana; her grandchildren, Stacey Reid, Andrea Norfleet and Katelyn Cross; and her great-grandchildren, Alex Reid, Kamren Johnson and Devin Johnson.

Darlean is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis Junior Norfleet; her brother, Boyd Buchanan; and her sister, Evelyn Pauline Ausban.

Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon, Friday, in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
