Rodney Wayne Sneed age 47 of Science Hill, KY passed away on Saturday April 11, 2015.

He was born on October 2, 1967 in Somerset, KY to Milford Lee Sneed and the late Rosalee Brinson Keith.

Rodney was a member of Junction City Church of Christ. He was retired from Eubank Police Department where he served as Chief of Police. He was a member of KY National Guard, and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was an Officer for Joint State Operations with the Marijuana Eradication Program out of London, KY. Rodney served as Deputy of Pulaski Co. under the late Sheriff Sam Catron, and was a member of the Eubank Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed raising Chi-Angus cattle, and working with horses. As a young man he loved bull riding and deer hunting. Later on, his hobbies included turkey hunting and for hours hunting arrow heads on the family’s farm.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalee Keith.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Sheila (Wall) Sneed of Science Hill, KY; his father and step-mother, Milford Lee and Charlene Sneed of Science Hill, KY; step-father, Lloyd Keith of Eubank, KY; one son, Hunter Lee (Faith) Sneed of Science Hill, KY; one daughter, Lakia Renee Sneed of Science Hill, KY; one brother, Roger (Rachel) Sneed of Eubank, KY; one stepbrother, Dale Keith of Science Hill, KY; two stepsisters, Shirley (Daron) Young of Science Hill, KY and Carol (Jason) Smith of Science Hill, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 16, 2015 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 17, 2015 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Carter and Bro. Joe Hill officiating. Also, Hunter Sneed, Gus Skinner, Norman Rutherford, Kenny Upchurch, Steve Eubank, J.R. Bates, Rod Hendricks and Joel Sneed will be serving as pallbearers.

After funeral services, burial will follow in the Sneed Family Cemetery.

Full Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Eubank Volunteer Fire Department.
