Damond Konkle, age 79, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Friday July 3, 2015 at Hill Crest Nursing Home in Corbin, KY.

He was born on April 19, 1936 in Vevay, IN to the late Ross and Alta Beech Konkle.

He attended Denham Street Baptist Church and enjoyed baseball, mowing the lawn, being outdoors, watching Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with his grandkids.

Damond was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Alta Konkle, one brother, Donald Konkle, and one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Coy Konkle of Somerset, KY; two sons, Billy (and Louann) Konkle of Somerset, KY; and Jordan Konkle of Cincinnati, OH; eight daughters, Kelly Zipp of Somerset, KY; Joyce Konkle of Cincinnati, OH; Joy (and Frank) Simpson of Bowling Green, KY; Jenny Konkle (and Tony Rodriguez) of Park Hills, KY; Dana (and Mark) Aube of Tucson, AR; Rena Konkle (and Glenn Cummins) of Somerset, KY; Carrie Konkle of Somerset, KY; and Katie Konkle (and Alfonso Lopez) of Somerset, KY; one brother, Raymond Konkle of Vevay, IN; seventeen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 7, 2015 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating.

Full Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post# 38 Honor Guard.

Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
