Vena Branscum Martin, age 80, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 16, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on June 29, 1934 in Delta, KY., to the late Columbus and Sula New Branscum.
She was a homemaker and a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family and enjoyed cooking.
Vena was preceded in death by her parents; Columbus and Sula Branscum, five brothers; Elbert Branscum, Holbert Branscum, Arvel Branscum, Thurston Branscum, and Ray Branscum, and three sisters; Ova Dick, Opal Denney, and Flonnie Branscum.
She is survived by her husband; Hillard Branscum of Science Hill, KY., two sons; Darrell (and Donna) Martin of Eubank, KY and Forrest (and Kathy) Martin of Cedar Grove, two daughters; Dorothy (and Lowell) Henderson of Nancy, KY. and Elaine Burdine of Shopville, KY., four grandchildren; Troy Martin, Leslie (and John) Clark, L.J. (and Brittany) Henderson, and David Henderson, and four great-grandchildren; Caeden, Bram, Quinn, and Hadley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday June 20, 2015 from 11am to 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 20, 2015 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Rudy Branscum officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
