Josey D. Swiney, age 19, of Science Hill, KY., passed away on Saturday May 2, 2015 at UK Hospital.
He was born on May 12, 1995 in Somerset, KY., to Anthony Wayne and Regina Gail Pruitt Swiney. He attended Nelson Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed basketball, fishing, four wheeling, playing games, and being with friends.
Josey is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Bobby G. Swiney.
He is survived by his parents; Anthony and Regina Swiney of Science Hill, KY., his girlfriend; Katelyn Hardwick of Somerset, KY., his grandparents; Kathy Pruitt of Somerset, KY. and Nadine Warren of Somerset, KY., two uncles; David (and Tina) Swiney of Somerset, KY. and Christopher (and Lori) Hargis of Maysville, KY., four great uncles; Gary Pruitt of Somerset, KY., Mark (and Judy) Borders of Georgia, Ray (and Marie) Maynard of Paintsville, KY., and Eddie Swiney of Breaks, VA., like a sister; Mariah (and Dustin) Moore of Eubank, KY., like an uncle; Aaron Trent (and Faye) Hargis of Somerset, KY., like grandparents; Gary (and Beverly) Hargis of Somerset, KY., and several cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 7, 2015 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 8, 2015 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Grant Hardwick officiating.
Pall Bearers will be: Chris Hargis, Brandon Pennington, Dustin Moore, Jacob Taylor, Dustin Muntz, Thomas Hall, Joe Taylor, Jason Brake, Koty Taylor, Kendall Jones, and Kelly Melton.
Burial will follow in Clay Hill Cemetery.
