James Ambrose Salyer, age 65, of Burnside, KY., passed away on Monday May 25, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on July 12, 1949 in Paintsville, KY., to the late James and Geneva Blevins Salyer.

He was a member of Cumberland Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.

James was preceded in death by his parents; James and Geneva Salyer, one son; Jimmy Salyer, one brother; Butch Hall, and two sisters; Lynn Dorman and Brenda Creamer.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Ridener Salyer of whom he married on March 20, 1999 in Somerset, KY., two daughters; Daphne Acton of Burnside, KY. and Brandi (and David) Butson of Burnside, KY., one brother; Stanley Salyer, two sisters; Sue Banazak of Somerset, KY. and Debbie Harmon of Warsaw, IN., six grandchildren; Kaitlin Acton, Caleb Acton, Hannah Vaught, Holly Vaught, Dale Woodward, and JJ Woodward, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015 from 11am to 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Home with Bro. Raymond Ridener officiating.

Burial will follow in White Lily Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the James Salyer Memorial Fund in C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home 2110 West Hwy 914 Somerset, KY 42503.
