Betty Jean Boling age 68 of Burnside, KY passed away on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on May 27, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to the late Merle and Thelma Patterson Sipes.

Betty attended Somerset Baptist Temple. She was an active member of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Health Ministries and enjoyed quilting, shooting and target practicing, board games, singing and card games. She also loved the choir and serving as family choir director for children. Anyone that knew Betty will always remember her love and dedication for Christ and her passion to share the gospel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Thelma Sipes and one brother, Vern Sipes.

She is survived by her husband, James Boling of Burnside, KY; three sons, Jimmy Boling of CA, Jason Boling of CA and Ronnie Bird of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Ronda (Joseph) Clarke of CA and Donda Bird of Hawaii; one brother, Doyle Sipes of CA; one sister, Martha (Chuck) Stevens of CA, a cousin who was like a brother, Larry (Kris) Hanna of Nevada and a cousin who was like a sister, Peggy (Norm) Lee of Alabama; eight grandchildren, Tyler (Erika) Bird, Hailey Boling, Lydia Boling, Christian Boling, Chandler Clarke, Alexis Clarke, Joshua Williams and Aaron Boling; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015 at 4:30 PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Tyler Bird officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America or Gideon’s Memorial Bible Plan.
