Joe A. Meador, age 83, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab.
He was born on May 20, 1931 in Portland, TN., to the late Edgan Lewis and Bessie Bell Kepley Meador.
He was a retired Yard Conductor for Penn Central Railway. He was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church and enjoyed bird watching and feeding birds and loved going to church.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; Edgan and Bessie Meador, one stepson; Doyle Casada, three brothers, and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Staley Meador of whom he married on July 18, 2006. One son; Joe Edward (and Kathy) Meador of Greenwood, IN., one stepson; Anthony (and Lisa) Casada of Bronston, KY., one daughter; Marlene (and Rick) Janeway of Indy, IN., one stepdaughter; Kim (and Randy) Dalton of Somerset, KY., one sister; Clara Likens of Portland, TN., five grandchildren; Reed Meador, Mitch Meador, Jake Meador, Ryan Meador, and Kelly Janeway, and three step-grandchildren; Alexcia Casada, Tela Casada Elam, and Paige Casada.
Visitation will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 from 12pm to 1pm at Denham Street Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 at 1pm at Denham Street Baptist Church with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Hopewell Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be to the Gideon Bible Memorial Plan and/or Denham Street Baptist Radio in C/O Denham Street Baptist Church 400 Denham Street Somerset, KY 42501.
