Katherine “Janette” Stringer Griffith born August 15, 1934, to John and Effie Hail Stringer (deceased); departed this life on Monday March 9, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband Doc. H. Griffith; her sons; Kevin “Hobo” Griffith, Steven Dale Pittman, Billy Dewayne Pittman, and Richard Bruce Pittman; her sisters; Beulah Booth, Maxine Dye, and Moneda Spears; her brothers; Roy Stringer, Harold “Pete” Stringer; and her grandson Reese Henderson Griffith. “Janette” is survived by her sons; Jason Griffith and (Courtney Brittle), John and (Lynn) Pittman, Harold and (Dee) Pittman; her daughters, Sherry Lewis, Janice and (Dr. Michael) Thomas all of Somerset; and Cindy Byers of Indiana; as well as a multitude of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and cousins.
Katherine “Janette” Griffith worked in Respiratory Therapy at the old Somerset City Hospital and Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for forty-one years before retiring. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes and spoiling her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2015 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 11:30am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. William Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
