Bertha Mae Harper, age 80, of Somerset, KY passed away on Monday March 16, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on December 23, 1934 in Faubush, KY., to the late Mack Henry and Cora Mae McClendon Lyons.

She was a homemaker and was of Baptist Faith. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, cooking, gardening, and flea marketing. She loved her family and enjoyed family time.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; Mack and Cora Lyons, one sister; Dorothy Lyons, eight brothers; James Lyons, Henry Lyons, Onis Lyons, Oscar Lyons, Ray Lyons, Arthur Lyons, Ezra Lyons, and Earl Lyons, and three infant siblings.

She is survived by one son; Richard (and Lori) Harper of Hopkinsville, KY., two daughters; Doris Whittle of Somerset, KY and Brenda (and Donald) Baugh of Cincinnati, OH., eight grandchildren; Tracy Manning, April (and Mark) Kirk, Christy King, Deetta (and Hank) Campbell, Joshua (and April Star) Whittle, Amy Harper, Jessica Harper, and Thomas Harper, and eleven great-grandchildren; Tyler Manning, Andrea Riley, Jordan Lee, Hunter Daulton, Railey Daulton, Matthew Kirk, Luke Kirk, Kane Cummings, Rayden Whittle, Nathaniel Whittle, and Easton Causey.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 20, 2015 after 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday March 20, 2015 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Cooks Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to the Pulaski County Animal Shelter in C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home 2110 West Hwy 914 Somerset, KY 42503.
