Eva Stokes Toby, 71 went home to our Lord Sunday November 9, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Harlen County, Kentucky, February 18, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Foster and Mavin Stokes.

She is survived by her husband, John Toby; three children Dr. John Mark Toby (Cathy), Susan Toby, Steven Toby (Kim); and five grandchildren, Cody (21), Carly (15), Boone (14), Daniel (15), and Andrea (14). She is also survived by one sister, Julia Rash (Jerry), and three brothers, Bob Stokes (June), Arthur Fuson (Cricket), Jack stokes (Melinda). Preceding her in death was a brother, Bill Stokes and a sister, Ruth Carr.

She was a member at Beacon Hill Baptist Church where she volunteered as church librarian. She enjoyed her grandchildren and children and was active with her children’s activities, clocking endless hours of bench warming. She also enjoyed flower gardens and new adventures. Her smile and giggle warmed the hearts of all who knew her. She was loved deeply and will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

A celebrations of life service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with grandchildren serving as Pall Bearers.

Burial will follow in the Rock Lick Cemetery on Grundy Road in Somerset.
