On Thursday evening October 29, 2014, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY; The Almighty God in his infinite wisdom spoke a word and dispatched the angel of death to cause the transition from life to eternity the beautiful spirit of Miss Gloria Lee “Missy” Taylor of Shelbyville, KY.
Gloria was born on November 19, 1978 to Mr. Lee “Double” Patterson and the late Tonya Taylor in Louisville, KY.
She was an extremely hard working, independent and rich in spirit individual.
She loved her family and had an affectionate soul and compassionate character that genuinely loved helping others. She loved without reservation of others regardless the circumstance or situation. She believed that she could conquer and accomplish anything through prayer and perseverance.
Gloria gave her life to Christ at an early age and attended the Church of God of America at 6 & Bradshaw Streets with her Aunt Sarah. She always knew no matter what, that God alone was the solace of her provision and strength. On April 3, 1996 she gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl; Tiandra Le’Shay Taylor. It has been obvious throughout Tiandra’s life that her greatest fan was her mother, and the bond between them was that of “best friends”. On August 8, 2011 God blessed Gloria with Jai’ona Nicole Thorton, this bundle of joy completed this amazing trio. Her daughters were the love of her life and gave her inspiration to endure the hardships and difficulties in life. While her support system included a few special people, she considered her Father, her rock, as he showed her unconditional love.
Gloria set high standards of work ethics and independence and instilled these in her daughter. She was a graduate of Shelby County High School. Gloria received her Associate degree in Arts and Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix On September 28, 2013. As a Single parent she set goals and objectives for her family and became a homeowner and was aspiring to greatness. She was employed with the Kentucky Utilities Company in Shelbyville for a number of years and continued her career in 2013 in the field of her studies at the Kentucky State Government with the Department of Vital Statistics in Frankfort. She was so proud of this accomplishment, her professionalism, knowledge, skills and ability won her the affection of her Superiors and Co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her mother Tonya Taylor, and three strong independent women that she considered role models and was instrumental in her upbringing; Granny “Muh” Eliza Conn, and two special cousins; Eliza A. Napier and Pauletta Trowell.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her amazing daughter, who cared for her as a sole caregiver during her illness, Tiandra L. Taylor and her baby girl Jai’ona Nicole Thorton of Shelbyville.
