Donald Lee Phillippi, age 75 of Somerset, KY., passed away on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.

He was born on January 16, 1939 in Somerset, KY., to the late Herman C. and Lillian Purcell Phillippi.

Donald was of Baptist Faith and attended High Street Baptist Church. He had a long list of achievements and clubs that he served in which included; Civil Air Patrol Captain, Masonic Lodge (Burnside 635), order of Kentucky Colonels, Veteran of Foreign Wars 269, American Legion Post of Somerset, KY., Scottish Rites (32 degree), Masonic Motorcycle Riders Association, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, he served three Vietnam Tours, and later retired from the U.S. Army.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Herman and Lillian Phillippi, one son, Joseph Cornelius (JC), three brothers, Billy Joe Phillippi, Kenneth Roger Phillippi, and James Phillipi, and a sister-in-law, Ann Phillippi.

He is survived by his son, Tracy Jerome (JT) Phillippi, two daughters, Veronica Jane (Roni) Phillippi and Sarina Anne Mowry-Bechtold, two brothers, Gene Gordon (Judy) Phillippi and Parker Dewayne Phillippi, five sisters, Wanda Kaye (Lester) Smiley, Shirley Ann Phillippi Silvers, Patricia Sue Phillippi-Sutton, Margie Dell Phillippi-Garner, and Kathy Lynn Phillippi-Randolph, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014 after 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Masonic Service will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 7pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Family will meet on Tuesday October 14, 2014 at 1:00pm at Southern Oaks Funeral Home then the Graveside Service will follow at 1:30pm in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #38.
