James “Jim” Douglas Stipe, age 68, of Burnside, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at his home surrounded by loved ones and his fur baby Izzy.
Jim was born on September 28, 1957 to the late Holman Calvin Stipe and Edna Mae Hopper Bradley in Lexington, Kentucky.
A skilled woodworker and carpenter, Jim mastered his craft for many years. He was an avid fisherman and loved music.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Gilbert Stipe, and a brother, John Calvin Stipe.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 52 years, Lonetta Stipe, son Wesley James Thompson of Burnside; daughters: Chasity Hope Martin of TX; Patricia Jo Cairel (Michael) and Jamie Natasha Stipe both of Nicholasville, KY; Jasmine Nichole Bishop of Lexington, KY; brother Richard David Stipe (Beverly) of Lancaster, KY; sister Glenda Sue Shaw of Danville, KY; grandchildren: Oliver Robert Sheffield of Lexington, KY; Taylor Renee Browning (Dalton) of Lancaster, KY; Corey Nathaniel Jacobs (Joely) of Paris, KY; Andrew James Istvanditsch and Alexis Dawn Istvanditsch both of Nicholasville, KY; great-grandchildren: Kaidyn Franklin of Winchester, KY; Marquita and Amelia Jacobs of Paris, KY; Kinsley, Levi, and Addison Browning of Lancaster, KY; Bowen Cairel of Manchester, KY; along with a host of friends and family.
Memorial service will be held on October 24, 2026 at 2pm at New Hope Fellowship Church in Nicholasville, KY with Pastor Richard Stipe officiating.
