Billy Ray Thompson age 63 of Bronston, Ky. passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at the UK Medical Center.
He was born on October 4, 1950 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Harvey and Ava Barnes Thompson.
Billy was a member of the Simpson Memorial Methodist Church in Bronston, Ky. He was retired from the Ky. Department of Transportation and enjoyed his children, grandchildren, dogs, donkey and his 1985 Chrysler LeBaron red convertible.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ava Thompson.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Katherine Thompson. Two sons, Anthony G. (Olivia Troxell) Thompson of Bronston, Ky. and Brian (Georgia) Heise of Frankfort, Ky. Three daughters, Teresa Swiney of Somerset, Ky., Amanda (Shawn) Martin of Somerset, Ky. and Sara Thompson of Bronston, Ky. One brother, Barney (Debbie) Thompson of Eubank, Ky. and one sister, Bonnie Gibson of Bronston, Ky. Eight grandchildren, Tyler (Becca) Thompson, Cassie Thompson, Haley McAlpin, Allen Swiney, Isaac Martin, Ava Belle Martin, Kelli Heise and Cody Heise. Two great-grandchildren, Bella Thompson and Brandon Thompson. Also survived by numerous cousins and aunts.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 1, 2014 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 2, 2014 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Don Hiten officiating.
Burial will follow in the Quinton Cemetery.
