Fay Ann Maynard, Age 69, of Deerfield Lane, Somerset, KY. passed from this life and began her journey with her Lord and Savior on the morning of July 26th, 2026 at her residence. Fay was born on October 26th, 1956 in Burnside, KY. to the late William “Bill” and L.C. (Daniel) Maynard. She’s also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Maynard of Tucson, Arizona and an infant sister and infant brother. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Deo Maynard of Tucson, Arizona.
Fay was a long-time resident of Tucson, Arizona before moving back home to Kentucky where she settled into life with family and friends. She never had any children of her own but would welcome yours with open arms if you allowed her to. She would lay claim to Mandy Hardwick as her daughter, and her children, Adam “Pedro” and Tasha as her grandbabies, or “half hers,” giving herself the title “Nana Fay.” She also had two special children that she helped raise, Kagan, and her sweet girl Raelynn. She was preceded in death by her long time sister-friend, Darlene “Cranky” Holland and leaves behind countless other special friends and cousins, including Elaine Whitter, Jan Baker, and her road buddy Debbie Carrender and her family.
Fay never married because she could never find anyone that held a candle to her true love, Mickey Mouse. If you knew her, then you know she was a devoted Mickey fan. She enjoyed family gatherings with good food, especially chicken & dumplings made by her sister-cousin Norma Hardwick, whose house you could usually find her at on Sundays after church. She was an avid crafter and made baby blankets for all the babies. She loved to quilt, crochet, bake, and decorate for Christmas and the fall holidays. She was always in character as a scarecrow when handing out treats to the kids. She was very competitive and could hold her own in a good game of cards.
Fay would travel to every gospel singing she knew of and never met a stranger. She found peace and comfort in singing and playing the piano. Her faith was reflected in the songs she sang and the encouragement she shared with those around her.
Faye’s life was a beautiful example of love, grace, and devotion. Though she is no longer with us, her memory lives on in the hearts of all those she knew and loved.
There will be a celebration of life with a balloon release and potluck at Burnside Island, Shelter 1 on Saturday, August 1st at 3pm. All of Fay’s family and friends are welcome.
