Mae Frances Wallen, age 82, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.
Mae was born on March 27, 1944 to the late Vola Lee Mounce and Myrle Nannie Loveless Mounce in Cedar Grove Community of Somerset, Kentucky.
She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted caretaker of her family and friends. She worked for 12 plus years at Joe & Ruth’s Midway Diner and Dairy Freeze. She enjoyed flowers and working outside.
Along with her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Eugene Wallen, brother William Edward Mounce, sisters Mary Lou Mounce, Shirley Mae Brooks, and Nannie Lee Mounce.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brothers: Ralph Junior Eugene Mounce, Jessie Murrell Mounce, and James Lee Mounce, sister Donna Jean Ellingwood all of Somerset; nieces: Lisa Deleon (Fidel), Samantha Joyce Thompson (James), Jennifer Lynn Mounce, nephews: Michael Andrew Mounce, Jessie Murrell Mounce Jr (Rita), Vola Eugene Mounce (Monica), Clifford Allen Ellingwood, Derek Edward Mounce, great-nieces: Maria Elizabeth Deleon, Brittany Nicole New, Ana Gabrielle Deleon, Alicia Danielle Deleon, Isabella Grace Deleon, Brianna Emily Mounce, Aubrey Lee Mounce, great-nephew: John Ethan Thompson, great-great nieces: Sabrina Marie New, Sadie Lee New, Evodia Mae Yat Deleon, great-great nephews: Hunter Lee Deleon, Miguel Jose Jimenez Deleon, Noah Andrew Mounce and Kolson Cash Zamora.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 11am-1pm in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Ron Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in White Lily Cemetery.
