Tereasa Louise Terry, age 69, of Burnside, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Tereasa was the widow of Lenvel Ledford Terry. She was born in the Blue John Community of Pulaski County, Ky to the late Floyd New and the late Mary Lou (Helton) New on August 26, 1956. Tereasa was a Member of Mt. Union Baptist Church and loved attending. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, spending time with family, babysitting her grandchildren, road trips, and gardening. Tereasa liked spending time with her bird, Precious.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her son, John Terry; and a brother, Raymond New.
Tereasa is survived by a host of family and friends, including her son, Brian Terry (Savannah), of Keno, Ky; daughters, Jennifer Helton (Jonathon), of Blue John, Ky, April Thomas (Edsel), of Tateville, Ky, Brandy Stevens, of Burnside, Ky, Victoria Dowell (Darrell), of Burnside, Ky; special sons, Dylan Thomas (Mackenzie), of Burnside, Jaydin Terry (Addison), of Somerset, Ky; special daughter, Inez Terry, Kiona Terry, Johna Terry; brothers, James New (Angie), of Burnside, Artman New (Lana), of Somerset, Clinton New (Connie), of Burnside, Tommy New (Sandra), of Columbia, Ky; sisters, Loretta New (Anthony) , of Burnside; grandkids, Jonathon Helton, Brandon Davis (Lucretia), Dakota Absher (Larry), Hunter Dowell (Brooke), Hayley Stigall (Exavier), Gracie Dowell (Colton), Brooklyn Terry (Keegan), Mason Davis, Kalli Jo Dowell; and great-grandkids, Jayce, Raylynn, Greta, Dallas, Lynney, Rashawn, Cameron, Lydia, Bella, Wrenlee, Jerzee, Easton, Emersyn, Everlee, and Weston.
A funeral service honoring Tereasa will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:00pm in the chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Dobbs Officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service and will be in the Terry Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her family, Jaydin, Brandon, Cooter, Dylan, Hunter, Brian, and Mason.
