Patricia Murphy Rizenbergs, an 84-year-old resident of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on July 7, 2026, at her home. Born on March 11, 1942, in Frankfort, Kentucky, she was the eldest of five children. Her parents were Betsy and E.T. Murphy.

Patricia attended Franklin County High School, where she met her husband, Imants. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, she embarked on a career as an elementary school teacher, teaching in both Franklin and Pulaski County schools. Her teaching career concluded in 1997 when she retired.

Patricia was cherished for her unwavering love for her friends and her fierce devotion to her family. She was an avid beekeeper and shared a passion for boating with her husband and family. She was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, David (Penny) Rizenbergs, of Jamestown, KY; her daughter, Susan (Allen) Pippin, of Cary, NC; five grandchildren: Chris Rizenbergs (Kate), of Richmond KY; Stephanie (John) Overby, of Russell Springs, KY; Nicholas Rizenbergs, of Gallatin, TN; Dana (Cole) Rierson, of Apex, NC; and Kathleen Friedley (Alex), of Raleigh, NC; and six great grandchildren:  Grayson Overby, Avery Gildehaus, Madalynn Grace Overby, Remington Rierson, James Rizenbergs, and Riley Rierson. She is also survived by three loving sisters: Barbara  Murphy, of Georgetown, KY; Kathy Murphy, of Frankfort, KY; and Jane (Robert) Barton, of Lexington, KY; and one caring brother, Jim (Karen) Murphy, of Stamping Ground, KY; her special sister-in-law, Sylvija (Bill) Tyler, of Jacksonville, FL;  her sister-in-law Phyllis Rizenbergs, of Jackson, TN; and her nieces: Elizabeth Winkler, Sarah Murphy, Amanda Dunn, Debbie Bosler, Linda Persandi, Julie Stephens, Cindy Kahler, and Dr. Kathy Slaughter; and her nephews: Matt Barton and Rick Rizenbergs.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Imants; her parents; her brothers-in-law, Rolands Rizenbergs and Kenneth Roberts; and her nieces: Carolyn Batsel Buckles and Emily Murphy Jorgenson.

Burial will be held at the Frankfort Cemetery.
