Brandi Dawn Kochel-Hampton, age 47, passed away on May 15, 2026, in Somerset, KY. Born on April 5, 1979, in Richmond, IN, Brandi was raised there before eventually finding her heart and home in Russell Springs, KY.
Brandi was a loving wife, mother, sister, and Mimi, whose family meant absolutely everything to her. She is survived by her husband, Robert Hampton; her sister Amber (Marsha) Webb; her children, Alexis (Ryan) Shuminoff, and twins Brandin and Larissa Kochel; her four grandsons, Tavarus, Matthew “Richard”, Xander and Adonis, and her fur babies Angelenia and Little. Who were truly the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Jo Kochel (Webb). Who died February 22, 1999. Just one day before the birth of Brandi’s first child.
In September 2022, Brandi was diagnosed with stage 4 Rectal Cancer. She faced her battle with incredible strength, openness, and honesty, becoming an advocate for others by sharing every step of her journey on social media. After fighting hard and reaching remission in February 2025, her cancer returned in October 2025 and had spread to her liver. Through it all, Brandi continued to show courage, resilience, and unwavering love for her family.
Brandi loved fiercely and unapologetically. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, loved dolphins, and filled her home with photos of the people she cherished most. If she wasn’t spending time with family, there was a good chance you could find her enjoying a bingo hall and making memories with the people she loved.
More than anything, Brandi was proud of her children and deeply devoted to her grandsons, her husband, children, and grand babies were her entire world, and the love she gave them will continue to live on through every memory shared and every story told. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
