Robert “Bobby” Hairm Whitis, age 74 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Bobby was born on June 7, 1951, in the Acorn Community of Pulaski County to the late Hairm Whitis and Ulene Mounce Whitis. He was a retired Supervisor for Eagle Hardwood. Bobby loved hunting, fishing, dancing, and most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his three sons, Shane (Tammi) Whitis, Jason Whitis and Robbie Whitis; eight grandkids, Whitney (Michael) Price, McKenzie Whitis, Jason Whitis, Jr, Madison Whitis, Cassidy Whitis, Katlyn Whitis, Jacob Whitis, and Rhylie Whitis; five great-grandkids, Maci Whitis, Bentley Whitis, Addilyn Price, Aubree Price, and Ivory Ping; three sisters, Barbara (Leotis) Whitaker, Bonnie (Pete) Watson, and Linda Whitis; a special sister-in-law Sharon Whitis and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents Hairm and Ulene, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lonnie Whitis, Buddy Whitis, Elmer Whitis, Doug Whitis, and Roger Whitis; two sisters, Randie Sue Whitis and Thelma Hawk.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. A private burial will be in the Whitis Cemetery.
