Betty Neeley Troxtle, age 86, of the Slate Branch Community, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Betty was born on April 20, 1939 to the late John Adams Quincy Neeley and Jane Morrow Neeley in Kidder Community of Wayne County, Kentucky.
She was of the Baptist faith. She loved raising her family, loved her gardens, canning with Jeff and the girls, busting walnuts, and spending time with her favorite daughter-in-law, Angela “Hanky” Troxtle and her favorite son-in-law, Jeff Colyer. She always said they were her favorite, maybe because they were her only ones. She loved days out with her adopted girls: Vickie Gleason, Karen Lawless, Vickie Simpson, Deidra Tarter, Jackie Rose, and Patsy Vaught. She loved to be included in their girls’ day out. She loved to see all her grandkids and them coming to see her always put the biggest smile on her face.
Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gola “Goldie” Troxtle, her son, Michael “Bert” Troxtle, siblings: Lowell Neeley, Floyd Neeley, Kenneth Ray Neeley Herbert Neeley, Marvin Neeley, Donald Neeley, Dewey Neeley, Brenda Kay Neeley, Doris Neeley, Abby Neeley, Gladys Troxtel, and Josephine Burton.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children: Ilene Parker, Connie Troxtle, Rita Colyer (Jeff), Sheila Troxtle, Ruby Troxtle, Beverly Troxtle, her sister, Della Branscum (Newdeal), grandchildren: JR Parker (Amber), Jason Troxtle, Brandon Scott (Alisha), Tyler Colyer (Elanndra), Jordan Troxtle, great-grandchildren: Kady Parker, Brady Parker, Gracie Griffith, Natalie Colyer, Aalyah Meece, Devin Meece, Jason Troxtle Jr., Liberty Roberts, Angelia Scott, Akira Scott, and Trenton Haynes; daughter-in-law, Angela Troxtle; Along with lots of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 5pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 9am at the funeral home with Bro. Isaiah Supper officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Kidder, Kentucky.
