Steven Louid Pichney, age 75, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, October 6, 2025, at his residence.

Steven was born on August 5, 1950, in Rockville Centre, New York, to the late John and Helen Dalton Pichney. He attended St. Mildred’s Church in his younger years alongside his mother.

Steven found joy in listening to music (especially Christmas music), sipping Diet Pepsi, enjoying Milky Ways and “fish burgers”, and watching Western TV shows. He loved taking country rides on the side-by-side and dining out.  He also attended Tri Generations, where he formed many friendships. He will be fondly remembered for singing, especially  Somewhere Over the Rainbow and White Christmas, as well as his reciting of the Lord’s Prayer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ann Jones.

Steven leaves behind many who loved him dearly, including his nieces, Dianna Linderman (Ryan) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Amity Humm (Beth) of Lexington, Kentucky; great nephew, Theodore “Teddy” Linderman; After spending 59 years with his beloved mother, Steven spent the last 16 years of his life with his adopted family, including Tami Vanover, who lovingly opened her home and heart to him.

He also leaves behind foster nephews Levi Johnson, Malcolm Adair, Tommy Adair, Carlos Wallace, and Lewis Bowling; foster nieces Tori (Ray) Johnson, Raegan Johnson, and Arian Johnson; Along with a special friend, Debbie “Mama D.D.” Dalton, many other dear friends and extended family members who knew and cherished him.

Visitation for Mr. Pichney will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 PM, with Paula Wheeler Christopher and Christy Cox officiating. Inurnment at Mill Springs National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
