Leona Wilson Turner age 72 of Somerset passed away on Friday April 18, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Care Center. Ms. Turner was born on August 16, 1941 in Somerset to the late Leon and Bernice Hollars Wilson. She enjoyed flowering gardening, puzzle books, playing Nintendo games, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Leona loved her dog, Pug and Tiny.
She is preceded in death by her parents; First husband, Vertress C. Tarter and her second husband, Harold Dean Boyer; grandson, Greg Wayne Roy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Christopher (Tara) Boyer of Somerset and Ricky Lee (Tamara) of Bronston, Kentucky; daughters, Cathy (Bill) Wesley of Somerset, Gwen (Therman) Davidson of Hyden, and Brenda Lee (Danny) Miller of Somerset; brother, Donald (Patty) Wilson of Somerset; sisters, Sharon King of Waterford, Michigan and Debbie (Donnie) Dunagan of Science Hill; grandchildren, Brandi, Rachael, Matthew, Heather (Christopher), Jessica (Nick), Shawn, Jaden, Nikki, Amber, Ashley (Chris); great grandchildren, Maliyah, Bentley, Tanner, Tucker, Isaiah, Destiny, Chloe, Maison, Collin, Cedric, Hailey, Dakota, Madison, Elijah; Aunt, Jean Rahm of Shelby Township, Michigan; best friend, Francis Wallen of Somerset;
Visitation for Ms. Turner will be Tuesday April 22, 2014 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will follow at 7 P.M. with Bro. Curtis Davidson officiating.
Private family interment will be held at Somerset cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Diabetes Association.
