Robert Van Crabtree was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at UK Medical Center.

He was a member of Ringgold Baptist Church. He was born on December 20, 1954 to the late League Sears and Bruce Crabtree.

He is survived by his wife Betty Crabtree, who he spent 44 years of life with. He is also survived by his four children: Renea (Josh) Denney of Science Hill, Ky; Buffy Pitman, Dustin Crabtree, and Kasey Crabtree all of Somerset, Ky. His grandchildren whom he adored: Jacob (Allyson) Denney, Gunnar (Raven) Pitman, Kelsie (Lucas) Turpin, Savannah Pitman, Taylor Denney and Brianna Pitman; a great-grandson on the way; four siblings, two very special ones: Bruce (Debbie) Rose and Koni Melton; special friends: Rick, Jeff and JR Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and a great-granddaughter.

He enjoyed his life spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed dirt track racking and NASCAR. He was a certified diesel mechanic and a car salesman for many years. He is greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 12pm-2pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2pm with Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
