John Tim Coffey, age 61 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home.
He was born on February 12, 1964, in Muncie, Indiana, son of Joyce Coffey and the late Truesdell Coffey. He was a self-employed contractor and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, carpentry and telling tales. He worked for the Pulaski County Fair for 36 years, coached football and basketball, and worked auctions in Somerset. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Becky Whitehead.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lucie Bryant Coffey of Somerset; sons, Timothy (Seayara) Coffey of Somerset, Jonathon (Kassie) Coffey of Somerset and Josh (Katrina) Coffey of Bronston; his partner, Stephanie Uffman of Somerset; brothers, Jeff (Jamie) Coffey of Somerset and Mark (Teresa) Coffey of McCreary County; sisters, Loretta (Bill) Gilliand of Eubank and Margie (James) Cameron of Shopville; grandchildren; Chris Gilliam, Starr Coffey, Lucian Coffey, McKayla Coffey, Peyton Coffey, Lilith Coffey, Trenton Coffey, Jayden Coffey, Dominic Coffey, Nicholas Palmer, Zofear Palmer and Weston Gilliam. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Dustin York officiating. Burial will be in the New Liberty Cemetery in Whitley City, KY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the John Tim Coffey Memorial Fund.
