Phyllis Diana Miller, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Underwood, Indiana, on the 4th of July, 2025. Born on September 19, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Sears and Lillian Mae (Soard) Mounce.

 

Phyllis’s legacy is carried on by her daughter, Rene’ (Daryl) Bryant of New Kent, VA, and her adored grandchildren, Brandon Bryant and Courtney Legge. She was a proud great-grandmother to Hayden, Avery, Raelynn, Asher, Jordyn, and Wesley, who will miss her warm embrace and endless support. Phyllis is also survived by her loving siblings, Jerry (Zedra) Sears of Pine Knot, KY, Patty Meece of Burnside, KY, Carl Sears of Virginia Beach, VA, Gearld (Judy) Sears of Eubank, KY, Connie (Wayne) Nelson of Somerset, KY, Vickie Gover of Somerset, KY, Charlie Mounce of Somerset, KY, Jeff (Kristen) Mounce of Somerset, KY, and Glenn Mounce of Bronston, KY, Tonya Mounce, Somerset, KY.

 

Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Miller, her brother, Kenneth Sears, her sister, Gloria Jean Woodal, and her life companion, Michael Norris.

 

A memorial service to celebrate Phyllis’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Southern Oaks Funeral Home, 2110 W Hwy 914, Somerset, Kentucky 42503. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation starting at 11:00 am that morning to share stories, comfort one another, and honor the remarkable woman that Phyllis was.

 

Phyllis Diana Miller’s journey on earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
