Shirley Jean Chaisson September 26, 1946 – May 19, 2025
Shirley Jean Chaisson, age 78, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025. She was born on September 26, 1946, in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, to the late Charles William (Bill) and Shirley Nadine Powell.
Shirley dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a medical assistant for many years. Her compassionate spirit and warm heart touched countless lives, both in her profession and among her loved ones.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Charles William (Bill) and Shirley Nadine Powell.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, Jimmy Chaisson; her loving siblings, Barbara Talbot and Debbie (Timmothy) Long; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was a proud mother to Michelle (Michael) Tubbs, Faith (Andrew) Personett, and Heather (David) Williams.
Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Nick Tubbs, Skyelar (Bethany) Dawes, Allan (Ariel) Estep, Kody Williams, Alex Tubbs, Amanda (Jonathon) Giles, Jon (Kat) Personett, Emalee Williams, and Topher Personett.
Shirley was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Jayce Holliman, Gavin Fry, Destany Giles, Alanna Fry, Elizabeth Williams, Jazzmine Estep, Xander Dawes, Greyson Fry, and Clara Dawes.
She found great happiness in the simple joys of life—bingo nights, a good book, and spending precious time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, 12 pm to 3 pm at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
