Kathleen Hammond, age 76 of Somerset, KY. passed away on March 30, 2014 at her home.
She was born on April 18, 1937 in Kidder Community of Wayne Co. KY. to the late Everett and Myrtie Keith Hammond.
Kathleen accepted Christ as her Savior on December, 30, 2013 and was of the Baptist faith. She was a retired housekeeper for Holiday Inn and enjoyed puzzles, visiting Goodwill and the Peddlars Mall, shopping and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Maxcine Weaver. Also preceded by a grandson, Brandon Hammond.
She is survived by three sons, Donny (Star) Hammond of Somerset, KY, Forrest (Judith) Hammond of St. Cloud, FL., and Keith (Kim) Hammond of Nancy, KY. Three brothers, Bobby Hammond of Somerset, KY., Gale (Judy) Hammond of St. Cloud, FL. and Mike (Sue) Hammond of Nancy, KY. Two sisters, Dora Riggs of Somerset, KY. and Barbara Emerson of Somerset, KY. Five grandchildren, April (Kevin) Staats, Whitley Hammond, Jordan Hammond, Mariah Hammond and Gracie Hammond. Two great-grandchildren, Kara Staats and Logan Staats. Also survived by of a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2014 after 6pm in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at 2pm in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffith and Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery in Nancy, KY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
